...With a difference...

Well i woke up to take a pre-dawn pee - and looked outside of my bedroom window to see a covering of snow across the local landscape...

'Oh wow' thought i - 'i've not seen snow covering the ground for many a year'...

So anyway, sometime after having returned to my bed, when the light of the dawn had shooed away quite a lot of the darkness, i realised that the pathways had begun turning to slush...

...No doubt aided by the escaping heat from nearby homes...

'Oooh' thought i, 'maybe i should venture out for an early morning walkies before it all disappears' - a carpe diem moment for sure...

So up i got, putting on clothes, waterproof over-trousers and coat - as well as my now fairly worn walking boots...

And without further ado, out i trod - treading my careful footsteps through the slush-laden path...

And further out onto a country lane to tread my boot laden feet onto the crispness of the remaining snow - enjoying and reacquainting my audible senses with the repeated sounds of the compacting snow as said boots fell carefully upon it, tread after tread...

And then, of course, the inevitable happened - i came across another like-minded equally eager soul, who, like myself, had ventured out to sample such an atypically inviting environment...

So, after a few shared words of mutually felt enthusiasm, off we both continued, in our opposite directions...

Then, of course, came the sampling of the water droplets falling from the overhanging branches of the nearby trees - with each of their seemingly several magnitude larger bubbles/droplets of water splatting down, uncomplainingly, upon my seemingly inviting head...

...The simple joys that life can sometimes visit upon us eh...

And then there was the young father with his very young insecure/unsure looking son...

...And the mother and father gently/playfully throwing snowballs at their two young daughters...

Twas undoubtedly the first time three such children had personally experienced snow - within the local area at least...

And then, much later into such a walkies, there was the large yellow patch of snow that i skilfully managed to circumvent - rather readily painting a picture of a perhaps lone male who had seemingly rather desperately felt the need to free/divest himself of at least a fairly large proportion of the gallon or more of the 'amber nectar' that he had consumed whilst presumably visiting a friend's fairly nearby house...

And then, a little further on, the sodden black boxer shorts that were emerging through the still melting snow upon the pavement...

...Let's not go there yeah - instead, i'll choose to paint a picture of them falling innocently out/off of someone's slightly overflowing washing bag, as they carried it home from a presumed earlier launderette visit...

...Aaah yes - a much healthier picture for sure...

And the snow??? - yeah, a lot of it still remains as i type these final blog words...
